There’s no other and better way to aptly put a title to this feature article than what the acronym in the name of the establishment stands for and the character that it, too, wants to project.  Yes, AMF Gallery Café is a haven for Arts, Music and Food lovers, and at the same time, is a bed-and -breakfast hostel for tourists and travelers in Bikol.

My next feature article on food and dining brings me back to Barlin Street.  The last time I made a feature on food joints on this street was in the summer of this year where I visited Sinulog Grill, Barlin Barlin Hot Plate and Cattlemens Restaurant.

Naga City (September 20) – The Commission on Elections' (Comelec) frequent changing of election-related activities has resulted in confusion among candidates for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and barangay elections here.

Republic Act 9164, which calls for the synchronized barangay and SK elections, places the election date on the last Monday of the month of October. However, it does not include any provisions for the period of time for the filing of candidacy or campaigning, stating instead, that the Comelec shall have jurisdiction over the matter.

1. Democracy

The conventional understanding of democracy is in the frequently-quoted, western- inspired line: a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. When taken by the Filipinos, it was rephrased into a government "off" the people, "buy" the people, and "poor" the people.

In my most recent article, I mentioned about going back to featuring food and dining in a series since the Peñafrancia draws near.  Fiesta is always synonymous to fun and food.  Though breads and cakes may not be considered as staples for fiestas, they have already been part of the Filipino (including the Bikolanos) food list.  Especially with bread which is considered to be of western origin, it has been there as  either for breakfast or merienda.  For breakfast alone, even if we still have our rice or fried rice, we still make it a point to have some bread on the table.

A study released by the School of Dental Medicine of the State University of New York under the Journal of Periodontology (gum diseases) has demonstrated that calcium-rich foods  may also help in preventing tooth loss that occurs in aging.

As the Peñafrancia Fiesta season draws near, I decided to go back to food, dining and restaurant reviews.  My first article for the series brings me to 3rd Street of Soriano Avenue at Villa Sorabella Subdivision (Naga City) in a cute but comfy place called GREEN EARTH CAFÉ.  By its name, you get a hint of what it offers.  But let me first  describe to you the place.  With the café just at the street side and corner of another street, you’ll find a small but home-styled food joint.  What greets you at the entrance is a trellis-type garden of ornamental plants..  Actually, th

C. Post Celebration Stage

1.    Recording of the fact of marriage in the Book of Marriages. The Parish priest is responsible for seeing that the necessary information is recorded in the parish registers: the name of the parties; their parents; their witnesses; the solemnizing officer, etc.  When a dispensation is granted prior to marriage, the date and the protocol number along with the dispensation are to be noted in the “Notations” column.

Altiora (adj.) – nobler, higher (things)
Petere (v) – aim at; reach towards; to desire; to seek after

These two Latin words, a mere utterance, a simple phrase. Literally meaning “to seek after nobler things,” these two words symbolize Vox Bikol’s dedication to Bikolanos.
