UNEP Alumnus Places 5TH in LET Exams, Tops Regional Level

At an early age, Anthony Cuba Vista already realized the great value of education.  Everyday during his elementary days, he would always look forward to school days with excitement and positive anticipation that another day is another adventure of finding new things, believing that he would eventually learn from them.

His sacrifices eventually paid off.  At the end of every school year, he would go home with his first honor medal. He had also received various recognition and awards which exemplified his perseverance.  He eventually graduated on top of his class as valedictorian.

During his secondary years as UNEP Scholar, Anthony aspired to be a great teacher, envisioning himself in front of the students while sharing with them his thoughts and ideas.  He graduated salutatorian.

Driven by his aspiration to become an educator, he took the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) on September 26, 2010 and expectedly grabbed the top post as regional topnotcher after the official result was announced by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) on November 16.  He also made it as 5th placer at the national level.

Vista, garnered 84.40 percent, two (2) points short from the national topnotcher’s score.

Aside from Vista, UNEP also produced new teachers who made it on the list of successful examinees: Dahlia R. Galvan, Rechel M. Gulpe, Melanie O. Mamano, Jovie R. Prades, Lilian C. Rosalinas and Anthony C. Vista while Jecel L. Jesoro and Amado L. Niebres Jr. were added to the list of new secondary teachers. 

Vista, together with other UNEP LET Passers were among the 7, 737 elementary teachers out of 39, 508 examinees, barely 19.58%, of those who passed the recent LET Examinations. Twenty-five percent of secondary school teachers who went through the examinations made it too, representing 9, 493 passers out of 36, 714 examinees who tried their luck as new breeds of educator. 

UNEP President Atty. Remelisa Alfelor-Moraleda extended her congratulations to the successful examinees. 

“UNEP takes pride in every passer that our university is producing and will continue to produce. We look forward for more victorious feat that would give our students their rightful place as global achievers.”

Tentative schedule for the oath taking of passers who took their examinations at Legazpi testing center is set on December 2, 1010.
