VIRAC, Catanduanes (Nov 27, 2011) - They all share lots of common denominators aside  from having almost similar sounding names.  And these parallelisms must be the lucky charms that catapulted them to the top.

Benjie T. Pantino, Benjames T. Go, and Jerwin DL. Rendon made another resounding history for the Catanduanes State Colleges (CSC) when they snared the Top 1-2-3 ranks in the November 2011 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission.

PARIS (AP) — Palestine became a full member of UNESCO on yesterday in a highly divisive breakthrough that will cost the agency a fifth of its budget and that the US and other opponents say could harm renewed Mideast peace efforts.

Soon after the vote, the United States cut funding to the organization because of a US law that bars funding an organization that has Palestine as a member before an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal is reached.

Now that the time has come for us to bid our goodbyes, what is left to say about the life of a remarkable person but her greatness and the legacy she has left behind. Through tears, we find solace as we express our grief. But through words, we bring life as we bear witness to the difference one has made in our lives and the world we live in...

OTTAWA, Canada, JULY 6, 2011.- A human person is much more than a sexual orientation or an identification with the homosexual or heterosexual lifestyle, say the bishops of Canada.

The Commission for Doctrine of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) stated this in a pastoral letter released June 27 on the issue of ministering to "adolescents and young adults who question their sexual identity or experience feelings of same sex attraction."

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma asked the police to immediately resolve the ambush of Romeo Olea, a radio commentator of DWEB-FM in Nabua, Camarines Sur.

"We deplore the senseless killing of radio commentator Romeo Olea who was fatally gunned down this morning by still unidentified persons in front of the Holy Child Learning Center in San Jose, Iriga City," said Coloma.

The concept of a warm planet may be a difficult thing to grasp for both young and adult learners. But local officials in the province assured that they have simplified the ideas with the help of teachers and scientists. They have then developed and included these ideas in the regular curricula of students in both elementary and high schools.

Gutierrez’s lawyer, Tomas Syquia, quoted the Ombudsman as saying in her letter: “I am resigning my office effective May 6. Even as a private citizen, I will still support the efforts of government in stamping out corruption.”

MANILA — After several hours of debate lasting until past midnight, members of the House of Representatives approved the impeachment complaint against Ombudsman Merceditas N. Gutierrez. With a vote of 210-47 in favor of House Resolution 1089, the impeachment case against Gutierrez would now be tried by the Senate.

Majority of Bikolano Representatives voted ‘yes’ in favour of impeaching Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez. Among them are Cong. Sal Fortuno (Liberal) of the 5th District of Cam. Sur, Cong. Luis Villafuerte (NPC) of the 3rd District of Cam. Sur, and three (3) Ako Bikol representatives.

Anthony Cuba Vista, a graduate of UNEP placed  5th at the

Let me apologize first for mentioning Araneta University in my Aug. 16 article "Pinoy DLP v. American UbD" instead of ARELLANO among hundreds of schools nationwide that have embraced the revolutionary Dynamic Learning Program (DLP) for high school developed by our Filipino physicists and 2010 Ramon Magsaysay Awardees Dr. Christopher Bernido and Dr. Maria Victoria Carpio-Bernido. Arellano is also working with both scientists-educators to use DLP even in college and elementary.

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines - Oct. 22 - Albay Governor Joey Salceda on Friday expressed dismay over the Supreme Court (SC) ruling allowing the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to hike their toll way fees.

"I feel so helpless - saan na tatakbo ang ordinaryong probinsiyano for protection?" he remarked.

According to the governor, the ruling has long-term adverse economic impacts on the welfare of the province's small viajeros who depend on Divisoria trade, or the fish dealers that rely on Navotas, and the ordinary motorists that include students studying in Metro Manila or families visiting their relatives.

Salceda said the Supreme Court has allowed three toll roads to impose an increase in their rates.
