Apprehended Holduppers Charged

NAGA CITY -- TWO SUSPECTED members of a robbery-holdup gang have been charged of robbery with homicide before the RTC Branch 30 in San Jose, Camarines Sur, after the two were apprehended in a police pursuit operation during a shootout in a foiled armed robbery at a grain buying station in Barangay Digdigon, Goa, Cam. Sur.

The police provincial office here reported on Wed. (July 8) that suspects Gilbert Oliver Ravanilla, 37, alias "White" of Barangay Digdigon and Eugenio Buenaagua Tria, 29, of Barangay Tagongtong, both of Goa town, are now facing charges docketed under criminal case # T-3333 in the said court.

Goa Police Sr. Insp. Rodel L. Pescuela said the suspects were among a group of armed-robbers who had robbed the grain buying-station owned by Allorde Lachama in barangay Digdigon when a police patrol encountered them during the robbery.

One of the suspects, Rannie Alano Cornejo of Mabini, Goa, was slain during the shoot-out with the Goa police; P 5, 000 worth of cash looted from the buying station and an Ingram sub-machinegun, Cal. 9-MM, loaded with 20-Live ammos were recovered from the dead suspect.

However, police sources here said, some of the members of the holdup gang are still at large.  (SONNY SALES)
