UNEP Bares New Registered Nurses

While Iriga City is rejoicing for the successful holding of the annual Tinagba Festival, dubbed as one of the hottest celebration in the region, the University of Northeastern Philippines (UNEP) also has reasons to celebrate with the new list of their graduates  now turned registered nurses, adding up to the rooster of health professionals in the country.

This after the board result was officially announced and published in the national dailies early last week.  The official announcement came from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).  The actual nurse's board examination was held on November 2009 and was only released this February.  Out of 94, 462 nursing graduates who braved through the exams, only 37, 527 fortunately passed the said licensure examinations.

"UNEP will continually produce passers as we strengthen our resolve to give our students, particularly nursing apprentice, a rich ground that will nurture their academic and personal character," Atty. Remelisa Alfelor-Moraleda said in an interview.

"We always see to it that our nursing students are given the opportunity to practice the theories that they have learned inside the classroom and practice it in the community. We constantly remind them of their obligation to give their best as what a true community servant should be."

Soon to take their oath as certified and registered nurses are UNEP passers:  FATIMA N. AGLIAM, THERESE V. ANDALIS, APRIL JANETTE L. BERMEJO, GINA MARIA T. BERNALES, CORINNE G. DIMAIWAT, GLORIA EXCELSIS T. ENSANO, ABIGAIL R. ESPINOLA, TALITHA AUBREY Y. FILIO, ROWENA A. GONZALES, CHRISTY M. HOSANA and RONALD M. IBO.

REZZIE B. LAGRIMAS, FRANCIS SUZANNE B. ONOYA, MARK CHESTER M. RAMOS, KAREEN L. SALVADORA, CAROLINA J. SEGUBIENSE, JAMELA N. VIBARES, CHARYL B. FAJARDO, ANGEL II C. MATUBIS. RICKY J. ORBON and OLGA T. SERGIO will also join the celebration after passing the licensure examination.

UNEP Executive Vice President, concurrently the university's VP for inance Ms. Deli Alfelor-Tibi, was equally elated upon hearing the news that the new graduates from their Nursing Department passed the nurse's board.  "You will soon join the the corps of health professionals in our country so, I would like to raise my hat to all of you for the job well done."

Ms. Tibi also reminded the new nurses to "continuously embody UNEP's mission to respond to the country's need for competent nurses as dependable ally of our country."

Wilma S.Ramos, R.N. MAN, Officer-in-Charge of UNEP College of Nursing was also elated and applauded the passers for their dedication and perseverance to hurdle the examination.  "We fervently wish that the strong ideals that we have instilled in their minds will make them an effective servant of our community."

As per PRC's latest bulletin post, the aforementioned passers will have their oath as professional nurses on March 8 and 9 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay, City.  The ceremony will be spearheaded by the PRC who has the sole authority to "regulate and supervise the practice of the professionals who constitute the highly skilled manpower of the country."
