NAGA CITY (Nov. 6, 2011) – Camarines Sur Police Director, Senior Superintendent Procopio Lipana has ordered concerned municipal police chiefs to step up the probe on several unsolved killings that have increased based on October records of the Camarines Sur police office.
Several sensational cases of murders were recorded by the police in October this year.
In Oct. 29, the remains of Salvador Lebantino Buenaobra, 29 and Angelo Galvez Saspa, 32, both residents of Mercedes, Camarines Norte, were found at the creek bed beneath a bahi bridge along Km. Post 70.161 of the Maharlika Highway at Barangay San Jose inside the Bicol National Park, in Lupi, Cam. Sur. The victims had multiple wounds on the body and blind folded with newspaper and packaging tape and both had rope marks around their necks. No motives have yet been established.
In the morning of Oct. 24 at Barangay Minoro, San Jose, Camarines Sur, a certain Roberto Pielago Agravante, 55, a resident of Barangay Kinalansan was also shot several times by retired army Col. Liberator Kunnang Obias, a resident of Danlog, San Jose.
The suspect, a retired military officer, has remained at large and is known to own the high-powered firearms and gadgets recovered at the crime scene.
Also in the evening of Oct. 24, at Barangay Lanigpa-Calawan, Ragay town, a tricycle driver, Lyndon Sarit Bautista, 28, was shot in the forehead in the presence of his girlfriend, Baby Tiamzon, and after the killing, the two suspects casually walked away towards Barangay Agao-ao of the said municipality.
In the evening of Oct. 25, Emilio Miranda Nievares, 35, a community development organizer of the NGO, “Simbag sa Pag-asenso Inc.” (SEDP) and resident of Daet, Camarines Norte, was found dead in Sitio Pongol in Barangay Balogo, Pasacao, Camarines Sur. According to reports, Nievares was riding a Honda Wave motorcycle when he was shot at the back by unidentified suspects.
Most of the killings have unknown motives, except the case of Agravante who was shot by a retired army officer because of land dispute. (SONNY SALES)
