NAGA CITY (27 January 2011)—THREE SUSPECTS who were served a search warrant  including two suspected drug users apprehended at a drug-dealer safe-house at Avocado St., Barangay Balatas in this City were charged before the Provincial Prosecutor’s office here on January 26 for violation of R.A 9165 or the “Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

Naga City Police Office director, Police Sr. Supt. Vert Tinio Chavez, told VOX BIKOL that the raid on Avocado St., Barangay Balatas is a renewed drive of the police office with directives from Naga City Mayor John Bongat to round-up notorious shabu-pushers in this city.

Chavez said that local informants have tipped the police that the safe-house at Avocado St. was among distribution sites of local shabu dealers in Naga similar to the notorious sitio “Isla Sison” in barangay Peñafrancia here.

Naga Police records showed that the search operation yielded a total of 14.7 grams of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (shabu) including drug paraphernalia and plastic packing materials from the suspects who were identified as: Dante Malanyaon, Nestor P. Bolo, alias “Bigote” and notorious drug dealer Peter Anthony B. Anier, who reportedly have multiple charges of illegal drug violation.

One of the subjects of the warrant Jojo N. Caneso was not in the safe-house during the police search, but instead two shabu users were apprehended by the joint police team.

The two others were identified as: Joemari Caponga of Pandaicon, Mabulo; and Benhur Basallote of Barangay Pacol, both of this city.

Meanwhile cash in assorted denominations contained in plastic sachets presumably from shabu sales amounting to P 6,798.00 pesos were also seized from the suspects.

Chavez added that the police search was only the first of the Naga PNP office operations against illegal drugs this year conducted by the joint forces of the Intelligence section of the Naga PNP Community Precint no.2; the City Police Public Safety Company; the Special Operations Group; and the PDEA.

The latest operation was also witnessed by Balatas village officials and radio-reporters of DWAR, DWRN, and “Bombo Radyo Phils.” (SONNY SALES)
