DAET, Camarines Norte (Nov. 6, 2011) – A security aide of Camarines Norte Governor Edgardo “Egay” Tallado was wounded in an ambush carried out by motorcycle-riding suspects but managed to fire back at the suspects killing one of them. Camarines Norte Police director, Sr. Supt. Roberto Bigay Fajardo identified the security aide as retired policeman SPO4 Roni Bardon who sustained non-fatal wounds in the head and shoulder.

NAGA CITY (Oct 24, 2011) - A construction firm implementing a drainage project in this city could be facing charges of negligence after two of its workers died and two others were injured when an 8-meter deep excavation at a project site caved in and buried the victims.
The project's contractor, 4GM Construction firm based in Antipolo City, has not made a public statement on the tragedy. But sources from the city hall say the construction company has administrative and civil liabilities and the city government itself may file the appropriate charges...

SIPOCOT, Camarines Sur (Oct. 16, 2011) – The Mayor and the Sangguniang Bayan members of this town stand as one in firm opposition to the resumption of the construction of a dam that was started and later shelved during the term of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) has proposed a new design of the proposed dam in the hope of gaining public acceptance of the project that shall be located in barangay Malaguico in this municipality.

PILI, Camarines Sur (Oct. 14, 2011) – Charges of violation of RA 8550 or the Amended Fisheries Code of the Philippines have been filed against the owners of 6 fishing vessels that are used in large-scale illegal fishing in Ragay Gulf.
The vessels are now in the custody of a special task force of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) central office.
The crew of the said vessels were were caught in Ragay Gulf early this week using prohibited fishing gears like fine nets, bag nets and ring nets.

GOA, Camarines Sur (Oct 10, 2011) - Mt. Isarog, a protected area and the main source of potable water for a city and several municipalities surrounding its base is getting deforested at an alarming rate particularly in the Partido side of this province.

DAET Camarines Norte (Sep 27, 2011) - As ”Pedring” instensified in Bicol starting Sunday (Sept. 25), 4 fishing vessels with undetermined number of crew member sailed to sea from the towns of Mercedes, Vinzons and Jose Panganiban and have been missing since Monday (Sept. 26).
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) spokesman Caloy Galvez reported Monday evening that when Bicol was under Typhoon signal no. 3, three fishing vessels from barangays Apwao, Cuatro all in Mercedes town and barangay Sabang in Vinzons still sailed to sea and remain unaccounted to date.
