Naga City Philippines (June 22, 2011 1:30 P.M.) - Falcon has now been upgraded to a Tropical Storm with sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness up to 85 kilometers.

But it is too far away to cause significant damages in most parts of Luzon. Falcon is now moving past the Bicol Region at 22 kilometers per hour in the general direction of Batanes-Taiwan.

One remaining concern is the Batanes group of islands, which Falcon is still expected to skirt some 70 kilometers Northeast of Basco on Friday at the time when Falcon might be a full-blown Typhoon

Land fall in Taiwan is expected on Friday evening.

At noon time today Falcon was located 415 km East Northeast of Virac, Cataduanes at coordinates 14.0º North Latitude 128.0º East Longitude.

Because of its wide diameter, Falcon still affects Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas with its western rainbands. Tropical Depression conditions with moderate to strong winds (30-61 kilometers per hour) are expected in these areas. (Vox Bikol)
