This Sunday on GMA News TV, National Geographic Channel's Freaks of the Sea takes us deep into the oceans of our planet, where creatures weirder than our wildest dreams or our scariest nightmares lurk.

Multi award-winning underwater cameramen John Boyle and renowned Red Sea specialist John McIntyre have collaborated to produce this wide ranging blue-chip television special, filmed over several years, portraying some of the strangest underwater creatures from every corner of the planet.

Mancao escapes NBI custody; manhunt on

MANILA, Philippines - Former police superintendent Cezar Mancao, who testified that Sen. Panfilo Lacson and former President Joseph Estrada were involved in the murder of publicist Bubby Dacer, escaped from the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) before dawn Thursday. Reynaldo Esmeralda, NBI's deputy director for intelligence services, said Mancao escaped from his detention cell at around 1:14 a.m.

The Catanduanes State University (CSU) official tertiary student publication’s literary folio won the Second Place award in the 73rd National Student Press Convention of the College Editors Guild of the Philippines (CEGP) on April 12-16 at University of San Carlos, Cebu City. The sixth edition of the CSU Statesman’s Abacatanduanes: Ikaanim na Paghahabi book bagged the 14th Gawad ERJ Ikalawang Pinakamahusay na Literary Folio award, along with the Philippine Normal University’s Aklas, First Place Winner, and Ateneo de Davao University’s Banaag Diwa, 3rd Place Winner.

NAGA CITY – A composite police force dubbed ‘Task Force Matamorosa’ filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office a case of murder against a local radio broadcaster, his wife and three other suspects on the killing of Lupi Mayor Raul Matamorosa six months ago.
