Mr. Aquino and his allies in Congress led the campaign to remove former Chief Justice Renato Corona on, among others, charges of betrayal of public trust, with Aquino being openly and loudly critical of Corona’s bias for the past administration, against the former officials of which corruption and other charges would likely have been dismissed once they reach the Corona Court.

Albay fisherman sued for capturing green sea turtle

RAWIS, LEGAZPI CITY – The regional office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) reports that a municipal court in Sto. Domingo, Albay has set for Sept. 10 the Pre-trial of a fisherman from this locality who is accused of  holding in captivity  a Green Sea Turtle or scientifically known as “Chelonia Mydas,” an endangered specie.

Capturing said animal is and punishable under RA-9147, known as “the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act.”

Wife cries justice for slain Pepsi Cola employee

NAGA CITY – The wife a Pepsi-Cola Naga-Plant employee who was killed by riding-in-tandem armed-robbers at an isolated road at Zone 2, Del Rosario in this city early this week has appealed to authorities to bring to justice the armed-robbers who killed her husband, a 37-year old employee who was ambushed while driving a company truck in the said barangay road.

Mrs. Sushela Punzalan, wife of the slain Pepsi employee Michael Santelices Punzalan said she still spoke to her husband moments before the incident.

Police faces blank wall on killing of village lass

BALATAN, Camarines Sur (July 27 2012) - The local police in this coastal town is still clueless on the motive of the slaying of a 20-year old village lass who was found floating along the shorelines of barangay Siramag in this municipality.

The woman had 23 stabwounds in various parts of her body.

On Wed. (July 25,) the police provincial office in Naga City ordered the Balatan MPS under Police Senior Insp. Gary De Villa Mangente to get to the bottom on the killing of Mary Grace Baduria Capindet, single and a resident of Itangon, Bula, Camarines Sur.

Robbery-holdup gang members fall in Camarines Norte

DAET, CAMARINES NORTE—Four of the five reported members of the “Manolito “Manu” Garganeta robbery-holdup gang” were nabbed by joint intelligence and police units of the Camarines Norte Police office after being cornered the other day in a vehicular chase along the Maharlika Highway at the San Vicente Road in barangay Log-on leading to this capital town.
