VISIT FOR PEACE AND RECONCILIATION. Ruperto "Raffy" Pabustan, Commander of the 9th Infantry Division, visits Jason Brul a.k.a. Ka Butch, the Commander of the Front Committee 79 of the communist terrorist movement operating in Sorsogon Province, who was captured after an early morning clash with government troops in Barcelona town on December 7, 2010. Pabustan gave the wounded rebel some Noche Buena goodies and cash assistance for his hospitalization expenses.

DTI Keeps Tight Watch on Substandard Christmas Lights, Other Products

Daet, Camarines Norte (18 November) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here has conducted an enforcement activity for the substandard products like Christmas lights.

Beth Parro, Senior Specialist of the Consumer Welfare Division, said that of the 11 inspected last week, there were no apprehensions selling substandard products like Christmas lights.

She said that genuine Christmas lights should have an ICC mark with a control number reflecting that of the ICC certificate of an establishment.

UNEP Hosts ICCC's Confab

Iriga City --- Pursuant to Republic Act 7722, also dubbed as the Higher Education Act of 1994, the University of Northeastern Philippines (UNEP) is set to host the 4th International Center for Communication Studies (ICCS) convention this coming November 27.
