Bikol Delegates Join Youth Parliament

Naga City (13 October 2010) -- Nineteen youth leaders from Bikol Region will join the 8th National Youth Parliament that will be held in Butuan City on November 5 -8, 2010.

Of the 35 applicants, the following bested the others during the screening conducted: Meden P. Dacuba (Cam. Sur); Ma. Christina Gumba (Naga City); Angeline Rose Alferez (Naga City); Rachelle Anne Miranda (Legaspi City); April Ann Bigay (Cam. Sur); Monica Palomares (Cam. Sur); Ma. Elena Bacero (Cam. Sur); Ma. Christina Banares (Naga City); Arcci Relloso (Naga City); Allen Allyson Dondonilla (Sorsogon City); Ma. Judith Claudio (Albay); Romuel Imperial (Naga City); Rhijie De Chavez (Legaspi City); Philip WilLard Medalla (Masbate); Gilmar Morino (Cam. Sur); Jhon Paul Lagumpay (Albay); John Paul Nantes (Naga City); Richard Castor (Cam. Sur); and Nino Favoreal (Cam. Sur).

The Youth Parliament is a biennial program of the National Youth Commission (NYC) that aims to establish a consultative mechanism which shall provide a forum for continuing dialogue between the government and the youth sector on planning and evaluation of policies, programs and projects for the youth; to craft policy recommendation that would address priority problems affecting the youth sector; to establish partnership among youth organizations; and to ensure greater youth access to NYC programs.
