NAGA CITY (Sep 3, 2011) - Officials of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) announced to the media its resolve to push through with a controversial dam construction in Lupi Camarines Sur and presented some changes to design and implementation that aims to make the multi-million peso project more acceptable to most stakeholders.

Alejandro IV, was releasing a report on the impacts of tropical storm and consequent lahar flows from Mayon Volcano and the flooding in Albay in July brought by previous typhoon, “Juaning.”

Naga City (June 13 2011) – The Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office has promptly created a task force that shall investigate the killing of Romeo Olea, the radio reporter-announcer who was shot dead this morning in Nabua town.

PNP Regional Director Cecilio Calleja Jr. has ordered Senior Superintendent Victor Deona to head Task Force Olea, which shall focus on the investigation of the mediaman ‘s killing.

Olea was the second media man killed after the May 2010 elections.

Legazpi City (23 March 2011) – Fernando Quililan, new Regional Director of the DENR announced a big contest intended for the welfare of the environment in the Bikol region.

Legazpi City (23 March 2011) – Fernando Quililan, new Regional Director of the DENR announced a big contest intended for the welfare of the environment in the Bikol region.

This coming June 1, 2011, the Baligang/Gumihan Contest will be launched at DENR Office in Legazpi. All six provinces and seven cities in Bikol are expected to participate in the said contest.

According to Dir. Quililan, for every five kilos of baligang delivered to his office will get a price of Php 15,000 and just one piece of gumihan will get a price of Php 50,000.

LEGAZPI CITY, (4 February 2011) – The jail warden of this city is in hot water after Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA ) agents seized from a cell some eight sachets of dried marijuana during a surprised inspection last January 31, according to a high official of the drug enforcement agency.

Caspe who showed courage in hounding two armed individuals suspected to be selling illegal drugs in the town of Irosin, Sorsogon on December 18, 2010.
