Naga City (June 22, 2011) – While still mum on the identity of the suspects, a special operation group of the Bicol Police shall soon file cases in court against certain persons in connection with ambush-slay of broadcaster Romeo Olea.

This was disclosed by Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Director Cecilio Calleja Jr during the PNP-Media dialogue at the Camarines Sur Provincial Police Office when asked about development of the investigation. He said the Task Force Olea didn’t set a deadline in the resolution of the case but rather doing its best to resolve the killing and file murder cases against those responsible of the crime.

Calleja has confirmed that the case buildup is positively progressing and motives of the crime have already been established by his men. After days of gathering information the authorities are in the final stage of investigation, meaning the case is progressing and can be solved ahead of time, he said.

Chief Superintendent Calleja earlier created the Task Force Olea to facilitate the early resolution of the case and he personally monitors the developments in the case. (Noriel Oya)
