SAN PABLO City, Nov. 27, 2011—A priest from the Prelature of Infanta, Quezon joined a group of coconut farmers and various farmers’ coalition in demanding the recovery of the Coco Levy Funds which rightfully belong to the poor coconut farmers.

Fr. Jojo A. Eranista, 63, who is ministering the poor tribal settlers in Quezon told this writer that he and his tribal group joined coconut farmers' march from Lucena City (Quezon) to Manila hoping that the poor coconut farmers would finally be given the (coco levy) funds for the rehabilitation of the coconut industry and improvement of the plight of the poor...

CANAMAN, Camarines Sur (Aug 17, 2011) — Twenty percent of the 61-kilometer stretch of the Andaya Highway, an important part of the National Highway (Maharlika Highway) stretching from Quezon province to Camarines Sur, are damaged according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 5th Engineering District Office of this province.

But its upkeep is not the responsibility of the local highway district office that has jurisdiction over it.

Typhoon2000 Automated Weather Station in Naga City recorded 8:30 P.M. last night wind gust of 27.4 kph blowing from the West Southwest, with barometric pressure of 998.8 millibars and 45-hour Rainfall Accumulation of 243 mm.

NAGA CITY (July 27, 2011 8:00 A.M.) - Tropical Storm Juaning(International name: Nock-ten) has rapidly gained strength as it approaches the coast of Aurora.

Juaning has now a sustained center wind of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) with gusts up to 130 kph. With a diameter of 555 kilometers, Juaning's rainbands cover the whole of Luzon including Northern Bicol.

The storm now moves West Nothwest at 13 kph towards the general direction of Aurora-Northern Luzon.

The Tropical Storm now moves Westward at 11 kilometers per hour (kph) and is expected to make landfall between Baler, Aurora and Infanta, Quezon around midnight today (between 11 PM-1 AM) then cross Nueva Ecija-Pangasinan overnight.

PILI, CamSur Jan 08 2011  Government rescue teams found four fishermen in a seaside village in Quezon Province, a police report said. Combined rescue teams of the AFP are now combing the high seas and the seashores employing soldiers and CAFGU personnel to locate the remaining 19 fishermen.  Catanduanes province has declared 4 missing persons while 15 people were reported missing from Mercedes town in Camarines Norte.

PILI, CamSur Jan 08 2011  Government rescue teams found four fishermen in a seaside village in Quezon Province, a police report said.

 Senior Superintendent Ericson Velasquez, Quezon Provincial Director said that the four survivors were among the seven crew members of a fishing boat who ventured off the high seas from their hometown in Mercedez, Camarines Norte about two days ago.

Pamplona, Camarines Sur (28 December 2010) — Due to lack of an official traffic advisory from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) First Engineering districts office in this province, vehicles passing through a major-bridge-link along Maharlika Highway in Barangay San Isidro, Pamplona town were held up for nearly three hours last December 27 when only one lane of the damaged San Isidro Bridge was passable for vehicular traffic.
