Tropical Storm 'Juaning' targets Quezon-Aurora, Central Luzon

At 12 noon today, Tropical Storm 'Juaning' was located 35 kilometers North of Siruma, Camarines Sur or 60 kilometers East Norteast of Daet, Camarines Norte at coordinates 14.3º North Latitude 123.4º East Longitude

NAGA City Philippines (July 26, 2011 2:30 P.M.) - 'Juaning' has been upgraded into a Tropical Storm and has slowed down in its upward movement .  As it changes its path, it now threatens Quezon, Aurora and Central Luzon provinces.

The Tropical Storm now moves Westward at 11 kilometers per hour (kph) and is expected to make landfall between Baler, Aurora and Infanta, Quezon around midnight today (between 11 PM-1 AM) then cross Nueva Ecija-Pangasinan overnight.

At 12 noon today, 'Juaning' was located 35 kilometers North of Siruma, Camarines Sur or 60 kilometers East Northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte at coordinates 14.3º North Latitude 123.4º East Longitude with center wind reaching 65 kph and gustiness up to 85 kph.

Tomorrow morning, 'Juaning' shall be in the vicinity of Lingayen Gulf,about 25 km NW of Dagupan City, and is expected to weaken rapidly into a Low Pressure Area after crossing Central Luzon.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical & Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has placed the following provinces under Storm Signal No. 2: Catanduanes, Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Quezon, Polillo Island and Aurora.

Signal No. 1 ramains hoisted over Apayao, Cagayan, Abra, Kalinga, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Mt. Province, Isabela, Ifugao, La union, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Bataan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Marinduque, Burias Island, Sorsogon and Metro Manila.

In Naga City at 12 noon today, Typhoon2000 Automated Weather Station recorded wind gust of 31 kph blowing from the West, with barometric pressure of 994.7 millibars and 36-hr. Rainfall Accumulation of 230 mm.

'Juaning' will continue to bring rains over Central and Southern Luzon and of Visayas and residents of areas under any Storm signal should be on the lookout for possible flash floods and land slides.
