Albay's most wanted arrested in Quezon City

CAMP SIMEON OLA, Legazpi City (Aug 7, 2011) — One of the most wanted persons in Albay province was nabbed by operatives of the Albay Police Office aided by units of the Quezon City Police District Office.

Newly installed spokesman of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office, Police Supt. Wilson Asueta said that Edmundo Campo Brondo, 31, alias “Butchoy,” a native of Malinao, Albay was arrested by joint a police operative on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by RTC Branch 16,Judge William Bolante in Tabaco City for cases of rape and statutory rape.

According to Asueta, Brondo was arrested by a joint police team led by Police Chief Inspector Fernando C. Barateta of Albay Provincial Police Office after a significant period of surveillance that led to his hide-out in a squatters area in barangay Delnacia, upper Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City, early morning of Monday (August 15).(SONNY SALES)
