MANILA, Philippines – A Pulse Asia survey reveals that 69% of Filipinos like former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to stay in the country to face the criminal charges against her.

These charges include the non-bailable crime of electoral sabotaged for which the former president is now detained.

Sources privy to the results of the survey done by Pulse Asia said respondents were asked the question: “Do you agree or disagree that former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo should be allowed to leave the country to be able to seek medical treatment even though there are plunder and electoral fraud cases that have been filed against her?”

Manila Philippines (Dec 6, 2011) - Pulse Asia released today its nationwide Ulat sa Bayan survey conducted on 1,200 representative adults 18 years old and above from November 10 to 23, 2011 showing that President Benigno C. Aquino III still enjoys high approval and trust rating.

" In November 2011, 72% of Filipinos are appreciative of President Aquino’s performance while 74% trust him," Pulse Asia published in its website, adding only 9%, or less than one in ten Filipinos. distrust the President or is critical of him.

MANILA, Philippines (Dec 1, 2011) – Immediately after hearing the testimony of the main attending physician of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the court ordered the transfer the arrested ex-president from her $1000 a day hospital suite to a government hospital.

Pasay City court Judge Jesus Mupas today ordered the transfer of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from the St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC) in Taguig City to a government hospital.

MANILA, Philippines – Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 112 has approved the temporary detention of arrested ex-president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at the St. Luke’s Medical Center as she awaits trial for non-bailable offense of electoral sabotage.

 “For humanitarian reasons the motion (for hospital arrest) is granted,” said Judge Jesus Mupas of Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) branch 112.

“The court has agreed to a temporary hospital arrest due to her health condition and for humanitarian reasons,” clerk of court Jose Pelicano told reporters after the court postponed to Friday a hearing on the motions filed by Arroyo’s lawyers.

There is no widespread indignation at the arrest of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Budget Secretary Florencio Abad observes that the "people power" of the magnitude that can unseat presidents is on the side of the current president. That seems to be holding and, barring major missteps on the part of the government, is not expected to wane throughout this Arroyo saga.

MANILA, Nov. 21, 2011— If only for ‘humanitarian reasons,’ a prison ministry official of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines backs the idea of hospital arrest for former president Gloria Arroyo.

Rodolfo Diamante, executive secretary of the CBCP’s Commission on Prison Pastoral Care said the current jail system in the country is not fit for those who are sick.

The warrant has been transmitted to the Pasay police for execution.

Spokesman for Judge Jesus Mupas  said the judge saw probable cause and instead of the anticipated hold departure order, an arrest warrant was issued and can be justified.

MANILA, Philippines (Nov. 5, 2011) - It's media that Ramona Bautista A.K.A Ramona Revilla is running away from - not justice. This was the the statement of Atty. Dennis Manzanal, lawyer of Ramona who is a suspect in the killing of her own brother, Ramgen "Ram" Bautista Revilla, reacting to queries why his client left the country.

"Flight from media, not from justice. No legal impediment to travel, " said Manzanal to ABS-CBN News.

Manzanal was referring to the court's non-issuance of a hold-departure order against Ramona, who is being implicated by the police in the brutal killing of her own brother. Ramona's other brother, Ramon Joseph, has been arrested and tagged by police as the mastermind.

MANILA, Philippine (Nov. 5, 2011) – Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla said in a statement that half-sister Ramona’s flight was a sign of guilt.

"Ramona's flight is a sign of guilt that she has knowledge and direct participation in the commission of the crime," Revilla said in a statement read by his spokesperson, Aldy Pagulayan, over radio dzMM.

The senator said that if his siblings are indeed involved in the killing of their own brother, they should suffer the "full force and weight of the law and suffer the penultimate consequences of their involvement as principal accomplices or accessories as the case may be."

MANILA, Philippines  (Nov. 3, 2011) –  Police report issued yesterday said that 2 hours after the Oct 29 murder of actor Ram Revilla (Ramgen Jose Bautista in real life), Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. took custody  of his half-sister, Ma. Ramona Bautista, who was then being held by the Las Piñas police.

Ramona and his brother Ramon Joseph Bautista are suspects in the murder of their brother.

Police Chief Inspector Eduardo Andrade Bajado of the Las Piñas City police investigation and detective management division said the senator picked up Ramona from the police station for a medical check-up at the Parañaque Hospital...

Ma. Ramona Belen Bautista, 20; and Ramon Joseph Bautista, 18, were charged with murder together with five others accused of helping them execute the killing in the Bautista residence in BF Homes, Parañaque.

“The motive is personal,” city police chief Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran said without elaborating.
