NAGA CITY (Dec 14, 2011) - In the field of lawmakers that include Congressmen Edcel Lagman, a loyal Arroyo supporter, Dato Arroyo, former presidential son, and Rolando Andaya, Jr., former Budget secretary, 7 out of 16 Bicolano district representatives in the Lower House signed the resoluton to impeach Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Two of 3 Ako Bicol partylist representatives – Rodel Batocabe and Alfredo Garbin Jr. - also signed in, favoring the ousting of the Chief Justice.

In total, 9 Bicol lawmakers joined the 188 signatories to the Corona impeachment resolution.

Benjie T. Pantino, Benjames T. Go, and Jerwin DL. Rendon made another resounding history for the Catanduanes State Colleges (CSC) when they snared the Top 1-2-3 ranks in the November 2011 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission.

NAGA CITY (Sep 25, 2011 7:00 P.M.) - As of 6:00 PM today, Typhoon Pedring (NESAT) dangerously moves towards Aurora, Isabela and Quirino Provinces.

Projected Landfall Area (PLA) is Northern Aurora with possible entry point or touchdown just north of Casiguran between 4-5 AM local time Tomorrow (Tuesday).

NAGA CITY (Sep 25, 2011 7:00 P.M.) - As of 6:00 PM today, Typhoon Pedring (NESAT) dangerously moves towards Aurora, Isabela and Quirino Provinces.

Projected Landfall Area (PLA) is Northern Aurora with possible entry point or touchdown just north of Casiguran between 4-5 AM local time Tomorrow (Tuesday).

Now moving at 22 kilometers per (kph), NESAT (PEDRING) is expected to maintain a general West-Northwesterly track troughout the forecast period with some decrease on its forward speed.

Pedring is now 235 kilometers Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes with maintained centerwind of 150 kph with gusts up to 185.

It is expected to become a Category 4 Typhoon early Tuesday morning as it approaches the coast of Aurora wiith a centerwind up to 250 kph...

Public utility vehicles are expected to stop plying the streets of Bikol for 24 hours starting midnight last night up to midnight tonight.

NAGA CITY Philippines  (Aug 1, 2011, 4:00 A.M.) - Luzon is now in between two weather systems - a weakening Super Typhoon Kabayan far in the East and a consolidating weak Tropical Depression (Low Pressure Area or LPA) in the West.

Kabayan (International name: Muifa) has lost its Super Typhoon status but remains a powerful Category 4 Typhoon that is moving slowly North-Northeastward across the North Philippine Sea. Its far distance, however, attenuates its effects in population areas of the country.

NAGA CITY Philippines (July 20, 2011) - 'Juaning' skirted the Bikol region as a tropical depression but it triggered landslides, flooding and mudflows that caused extensive damage to properties and public infrastructure.

The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC), said that Juaning caused the death of 32 people in the Bikol region - 12 in Albay, 6 in Catanduanes, 6 in Camarines Norte, 5 in Camarines Sur, 2 in Masbate and 1 in Sorsogon.

At 6:00 P.M. today, the eye of the tropical storm was located 1060 kilometers  East of Virac, Catanduanes at coordinates 13.9º North Latitude 134.0º East Longitude with sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gusts up to 120 kph.

VIRAC, Catanduanes, July 13, (PIA) -- A total of 4,654 families will be added to the 5,126 families already under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4ps) in the Conditional Cash Transfer program starting next year.

LEGAZPI City (July 1, 2011) – Rescue teams of the Philippine Navy, using 2 sea vessels and an aircraft, have ended the search for 10 missing fishermen from Ligao City and the towns of Virac and Bato in Catanduanes province.

An official report on Thursday, (June 30) from the Office of the Civil Defence (OCD) Bicol office and the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC) bared that the 10 fishermen lost at sea and will not be searched anymore were identified as:

Rosa Ordan, 54, barangay Basag, of Ligao City;
