Manila Philippines (Dec 6, 2011) - Pulse Asia released today its nationwide Ulat sa Bayan survey conducted on 1,200 representative adults 18 years old and above from November 10 to 23, 2011 showing that President Benigno C. Aquino III still enjoys high approval and trust rating.

" In November 2011, 72% of Filipinos are appreciative of President Aquino’s performance while 74% trust him," Pulse Asia published in its website, adding only 9%, or less than one in ten Filipinos. distrust the President or is critical of him.

Manila Philippines (Nov 18, 2011) - At around 4 PM today, the Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 112 issued a warrant of arrest against former Philippine president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The warrant has been transmitted to the Pasay police for execution.

Spokesman for Judge Jesus Mupas  said the judge saw probable cause and instead of the anticipated hold departure order, an arrest warrant was issued and can be justified.

MANILA, Philippines (Nov 13, 2011) - Manny Pacquiao-Manuel Marquez trilogy comes to end in a way that did not satisfy many boxing fans. Marquez stormed out of the ring after Michael Buffer announced the judges' controversial decison in favor of Pacquiao. WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao retained his title with a questionable majority decision victory over nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas today.

The Puerto Princesa Underground River makes it to the "provisional New7Wonders of Nature based on the first count of vote results on 11/11/11, " New7Wonders.com announced.

The complete list includes Amazon, Halong Bay, Iguazo Falls, Jeju Island, Komodo, Puerto Princesa Underground River and Table Mountain. It is not known how PPUR ranked in the voting because the list is arranged in alphabetical order.

"The voting calculation is now being checked, validated and independently verified, and the confirmed winners will be announced starting early 2012 during the Official Inauguration ceremonies," New7Wonders announced in its home page.

MANILA, Philippines - The Office of the Solicitor General has asked the Supreme Court to give them more time to comment on Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s petition to have her name dropped from the immigration watchlist and for a temporary restraining order (TRO) from the SC.

“It is respectfully prayed that respondent be given reasonable time to comment on the present petition and the application for a TRO before any action on the said application for the issuance of a TRO is taken by the honorable court, or that this very urgent manifestation and motion be treated as an opposition to the said application and that the same be denied for utter lack of merit,” Solicitor General Joel Cadiz said in a 16-page “very urgent manifestation and motion” filed with the SC on Wednesday.

Miss Venezuela, Ivian Sarcos, is crowned the 2011 winner of the Miss World beauty pageant at a glittering final ceremony in London.. Miss Philippines, Gwendoline Ruais, was named the runner-up, while Miss Puerto Rico, Amanda Perez, came third in the contest, which was back in its home city to celebrate its 60th anniversary.

NAGA CITY (Oct 24, 2011) - A construction firm implementing a drainage project in this city could be facing charges of negligence after two of its workers died and two others were injured when an 8-meter deep excavation at a project site caved in and buried the victims.

The project's contractor, 4GM Construction firm based in Antipolo City, has not made a public statement on the tragedy. But sources from the city hall say the construction company has administrative and civil liabilities and the city government itself may file the appropriate charges...

Cecilio Calleja, ordered the Police provincial office of Camarines Sur to conduct an in-depth investigation on the brutal slaying of a barangay chairman in Daculang Tubig, San Fernando, Cam. Sur in October 15.

NAGA CITY (Sep 25, 2011 7:00 P.M.) - As of 6:00 PM today, Typhoon Pedring (NESAT) dangerously moves towards Aurora, Isabela and Quirino Provinces. Projected Landfall Area (PLA) is Northern Aurora with possible entry point or touchdown just north of Casiguran between 4-5 AM local time Tomorrow (Tuesday). Now moving at 22 kilometers per (kph), NESAT (PEDRING) is expected to maintain a general West-Northwesterly track troughout the forecast period with some decrease on its forward speed.

NAGA CITY (Sep 25, 2011) - Typhoon Pedring (International name: NESAT) was spotted 9:00 A.M. today north east of the Bicol region is moving fast at 28 kilometers per hour (kph) west-northwesterly towards the Aurora province.

Pedring is now 235 kilometers Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes with maintained centerwind of 150 kph with gusts up to 185.

It is expected to become a Category 4 Typhoon early Tuesday morning as it approaches the coast of Aurora wiith a centerwind up to 250 kph...
