NAGA CITY (Sep 25, 2011) - Typhoon Pedring (International name: NESAT) was spotted 9:00 A.M. today north east of the Bicol region is moving fast at 28 kilometers per hour (kph) west-northwesterly towards the Aurora province.
Pedring is now 235 kilometers Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes with maintained centerwind of 150 kph with gusts up to 185.
It is expected to become a Category 4 Typhoon early Tuesday morning as it approaches the coast of Aurora wiith a centerwind up to 250 kph.
As forecast, the center of the typhoon will pass 200 km to the north of Bicol Region late this afternoon or evening and make landfall over Aurora Province in between Baler and Casiguran by Tuesday early morning.
Pedring will then cross the northern part of Central Luzon - moving across Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet...and exit the area through La Union Tuesday evening.
By Wednesday evening, NESAT will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on its way towards Hainan Island, Southern China.
PAGASA has raised typhoon signal no. 2 over Aurora, Isabela, Polillo Islands, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.
Albay, Burias Island, Sorsogon, Quezon, Quirino, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Mountain Province, Kalinga and Cagayan are now under Typhoon SIgnal No. 1.
