NAGA CITY (22 May) - THREE INDIAN NATIONALS have been charged with murder before the Naga City Prosecutor's Office by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regional office in this City for the slaying of another Indian national, Kamaldeep Brar Singh, 30, who was shot by a gunman along a commercial area of Elias Angeles St. in this City last March 30.
In a report by the Naga City Police Office, three Indian nationals identified as Sikandeer Singh Grewal, a resident of Villa Grande Homes Sub., Concepcion Grande; Inderjit Singh Grewal, and Amandeep Singh Mondi, both residents of Villa Sorabella Subdivision, Concepcion Grande, all in Naga City, have been implicated by the NBI as the masterminds in the killing of Brar Singh.
Included in the murder case were two identified hired gunmen, Freddie Belen of Barangay Dayangdang, Naga City, and Roniel Rodriguez Y. Gonzales.
Sources at the Investigation Section of the Naga Police Office revealed, however, that before the filing of the murder case last May 18, the three Indian nationals have mysteriously disappeared, with the families of the foreigners saying they have no knowledge of their whereabouts.
Sources here also said that wife of the murder victim had told the police that she was bringing her husband's remains back to India for traditional burial, and that she was not interested in pursuing the case on her husband's murder.
Recently a provincial prosecutor told a local TV news that the three Indian nationals charged by the NBI were threatening him, while investigators here said the killings of two other Indian nationals since 2004 have appeared to be related.
Police intelligence source also disclosed that the three Indian nationals were actually victims of Brar Singh, who was allegedly involved in an Indian-syndicate perpetrating extortion, money-marketing, and even drugs. (SONNY SALES)
