To serve more clients in the Partido Area, Consuelo “Chito” Madrigal Foundation (CCMF-Bikol) will open a branch office in Tigaon, Camarines Sur, in June 2011. This was revealed by Fr. Wilmer S. Tria, Chief Executive Officer.

Currently, CCMF-Bikol has microfinance centers in 13 municipalities, including Tigaon and Ocampo. “We can reach out to other municipalities and parishes in Partido when we have an office in the area,” says Fr. Tria.

In 2009, CCMF-Bikol began microfinance operations in Ocampo in support of the anti-gambling campaign spearheaded by the Archdiocese of Caceres. Through the assistance of Fr. Danilo Viola, parish priest of St. Bernard Abbot, there are now 399 microfinance members. CCMF-Bikol has released 747 ranging from PhP 5,000 to PhP 20,000.00. The opening of a branch office in Tigaon will make CCMF-Bikol more accessible to its members and encourage more residents in nearby towns to join the program.

“CCMF-Bikol’s thrust is in sync with the Archdiocese of Caceres’ pastoral concern for poverty alleviation. It is a member of the social services’ cluster of the Archdiocese headed by CASAFI,” says Fr. Tria.

CASAFI, or short for the Caceres Social Action Foundation, Inc. is the social apostolate commission of the Archdiocese with Msgr. Nelson Tria as Executive Director.
