NAGA CITY (27 November) —A housewife who was reportedly abducted midnight of Wednesday (Nov. 24) along Magsaysay Ave. in this City, was found dead by local residents early morning of Friday (Nov. 26) at a road side in Zone 1, Sagrada Familia, Minalabac, Camarines Sur, about 15 kms. away from this city.
Investigators of Naga Police Community Precint no. 2, Naga Police Chief, Sr. Supt. Vert Chavez and Naga Mayor John Bongat, the Provincial Police Office’s SOCO team, and the Minalabac Municipal Police Station investigated the crime scene and later brought the victim’s body to Imperial Funeral Homes in this city.
Naga Police Chief Insp. Ben Espana identified the victim as Maricel Bartolome Pas, 29, a resident of Looban, Bayawas, Barangay Abella in this city, a working housewife at WestPark, a mini-mall complex at Magsaysay Ave.
Espana said that Pas was found with a gunshot wound on her forehead and with bruises on her body, clad in black t-shirt and pants; her body was dumped by her abductors at a village in Minalabac town.
In a blotter report early morning of Nov. 25 at the Police Community Precint no. 2, the husband of the victim, Aaron Creo Pas, reported to the police precinct that her wife had sent a text message at 12:07 midnight of Wedneday that she was coming home from work, while another text message at 12:13 A.M showed that Maricel was upset that the tricycle she took was forcibly taking her to Barangay San Felipe.
According to Espana, the initial investigation revealed that only two eye-witnesses claimed seeing the abduction of the victim, stating that Pas took a tricycle with no franchise markings and presumably was privately-owned.
Meanwhile a resident in San Felipe said she heard a woman shouting in a speeding tricycle.
Espana appealed over radio-broadcast on Saturday (Nov 27) for potential witnesses to discreetly contact the police and shed light on the abduction and slaying of the victim. (SONNY SALES)
