NAGA CITY (Dec 13,2011) – In response to the resurgence of motorcycle-borne “riding in tandem” robbers, thirty policemen have volunteered to use their personally-owned motorcycles to patrol the 27 Barangays of this city and augment the city police’s  integrated anti-crime system.

The police chief is appreciative of the scheme where “riding in tandem” cops shall be fitted against “riding in tandem” criminals.

Naga City, (May 2, 2011) – Naga Mayor John Bongat has ordered PNP City Director Vert T. Chavez to stop all kinds of gambling within the city's jurisdiction. According to Commander Lope Rili, Sr., Vice President for Bikol of the Veterans Federation of the Philippines, an estimated 300 veterans coming from the six provinces and seven cities of Region 5 shall attend the one-day assembly at Champagne Garden Reception Center in Taal Avenue, Naga City.

Renato Eje, LBP Assistant Vice President and regional branch manager, said that this is good news to pensioners of the GSIS as LBP branches in Masbate City, Virac, Catanduanes, and in the cities of Naga and Ligao will provide banking services to accommodate GSIS pensioners very soon.

Naga City (1 February 2011) -- Technology-learning innovator STI recently inaugurated its newest campus at Naga City through the blessing of the STI Naga Academic Center last 31 January, the feast of St. John Bosco.

According to owner Atty. Monico V. Jacob, the Naga Academic Center is one of the six new campuses built by STI; there are now 60 campuses and over 65,000 students of STI all over the country, he added.

The disturbing report from the Naga City Police Office (NCPO) is that “December crimes” this year have shot up by 17% as compared to last year’s. In its report, the NCPO cited data which showed that there were 111 known incidents of crime during the period between December 1 to 20 of this year, while “only” 95 cases were filed for the same period last year. In addition, the statistics that the NCPO presented is complemented by anecdotal accounts of how crime seemed to be not only currently more rampant, but also more brazen and audacious.

Bongat, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Bikol will open its satellite office in Naga City on December 15, this year to directly serve more than 25,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families in Camarines provinces.
