Business leader reiterates opposition to division of Camarines Sur

NAGA CITY (Jan 12, 2012) – It's a "NO" to the division of the province of Camarines Sur, said newly elected president of the Camarines Sur Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI-Cam. Sur) Solomon Ngo speaking in behalf of the business sector of the province.

Ngo made his first public statement on the issue after the chamber concluded its first 16-man Board of directors meeting for 2012, as the congressmen-proponents of the province's division push for a plebesite in the 2nd quarter of this year to ratify House Bill 4820 that proposes to create the new Nueva Camarines province.

Drug courier reveals shabu trade within provincial capitol complex

CAMALIGAN, Camarines Sur (Jan 10, 2012) – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police intelligence personnel are looking into the claims of illegal drug trade in the capital town of Pili and the Provincial Capitol compound by a confessed illegal drug courier who was rescued by the local police in this town during the weekend.

In a confession-affidavit, Saidemen Pao Devonsah, 21, a native of Iligan City and a temporary resident of Latex, Cubao, Quezon City, admitted that he is an illegal drug courier transporting shabu from Metro Manila to a client in the capital town of Pili, Camarines Sur.

NFA floods local market with “iron rice” to counter malnutrition

PILI, Camarines Sur (Dec 17, 2011) – The provincial branch of the National Food Authority (NFA)  has flooded the public markets in this province with nearly 11,000 bags of “Iron-fortified-rice”  to address the high incidence of malnutrition particularly among children in this province.

NFA Camarines Sur assistant provincial manager Nora Folosco said that NFA has a national mandate to reduce malnutrition in Camarines Sur, considered among Bicol provinces with highest malnutrition cases based on UNICEF findings.

Pili, Camarines Sur (Nov. 18, 2011) - GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon will address more than 4,000 delegates in the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress today, November 18 at the Watersports Complex in Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur.

Gozon is credited with steering GMA towards being the number one television station in the country today and branching out its broadcast business to alternative local all-news channel GMA News TV (GNTV). In his address, Gozon will discuss the future of television amid the digital and mobile age.

The five-kilometre route starts at the Provincial Capitol gate, going around the 180 hectares of the Capitol Complex traversing the CAMSUR Watersports Complex (CWC) , Lago del Rey and the roads along the Mansion suites.

7th Pagsurat Bikol to Honor Vincentian Schools' Founders

Preparations are underway for the 7th Juliana Arejola-Fajardo Workshop sa Pagsurat-Bikol, Bicol’s only annual creative writing workshop. Traditionally held in the summer months, the write-shop is finally scheduled on November 27 and 28 at the Our Lady’s Hall of the St. Louise de Marillac School (SLMS) in Pili, Camarines Sur.

Preparations are underway for the 7th Juliana Arejola-Fajardo Workshop sa Pagsurat-Bikol, Bicol’s only annual creative writing workshop.
