MANILA, July 18, 2011— The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) supports moves to solve past cases of electoral fraud especially the Hello Garci scandal.

Henrietta de Villa, PPCRV chairperson, said that until those accountable for a crime have been revealed and justice has been served, the case cannot be put to rest.

“They should run after all those who had a hand in the mega cheating in the 2004 and 2007 elections,” said de Villa.

MANILA Philippines (July 16, 2011) - Philippine President Benigno Aquino III finds it amazing that bishops are asking him and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chair Margarita Juico to issue a public apology for dragging the Church into a scandal when some Catholic bishops were involved in controversial fund disbursements at the PCSO.

MANILA Philippines (July 16, 2011) - Philippine President Benigno Aquino III finds it amazing that bishops are asking him and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chair Margarita Juico to issue a public apology for dragging the Church into a scandal when some Catholic bishops were involved in controversial fund disbursements at the PCSO.

“It’s not clear why I should apologize to them,” Aquino said. “I’m ready to apologize if I did something wrong. But where did all these start?”

At yesterday's Senate hearing, officers of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the Commission on Audit (COA) enumerated alleged anomalies committed by the previous management with probable involvement of the former president.

Arroyo’s nine year rule left some 7,000 Filipino migrant workers jailed, more than 10,000 stranded in the Middle East alone, 108 in death row and six beheaded. Arroyo’s waning months as president could have provided President Benigno S. Aquino III a bird’s eye view of the hardships that OFWs went through.

LEGAZPI CITY, Nov. 24  -- The Bicol Regional Development Council (RDC) on Wednesday endorsed to President Benigno Aquino III the adoption of “pockets of open skies” once the Southern Luzon International Airport (SLIA) in Albay province becomes operational in 2013.

Albay Gov. Joey Salceda, concurrent RDC chairperson, said during a full council meeting officially endorsed to President Aquino and the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) the adoption of an open sky policy for SLIA to promote competition in the airline industry.
