CWC Hosts 3rd Philippine Cable Wakeboard Nationals

The Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC) and the provincial government of Camarines Sur are once again gearing up the final preparations for the hosting for the 3rd straight year the Philippine Cable Wakeboard Nationals on March 27-30, 2008 wherein nationally ranked wakeboarders will see action and compete for fame, prizes, and possibly, extreme sports glory as well as international recognition.
Gov. LRay Villafuerte, the chief executive of the province as well as president of the Philippine Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (PWWF), has already directed the Camarines Sur Tourism Office to coordinate the responsible committees in charge with various preliminary preparations in order to ensure a smooth and hassle-free sports affair.
It is also expected that aside from the noted riders who are currently enjoying high ranking in the Philippines, there will be international riders and wakeboard superstars who will go back to Camarines Sur to once again showcase their skills and prowess on the waters at the much-bandied 6-point cable waterski park that will draw in the crowd of sports enthusiasts as well as the fans and spectators.
Aside from watching the tricks and antics of the competitors, visitors can also stroll around the vast complex going through the different food bazaars and trade fair, henna tattoo booth, chill out bar, and air brush booth.  A media booth will be set up to facilitate getting the much needed updates and results of the competition for broadcast and media release. The schedule of events for the 4-day sports activity is as follows:  March 27 – Registration of Participants/Media/VIPs/Guests; Practice Runs in the morning and afternoon; Riders/Participants’ Briefing and Judges’ Briefing in the evening at the CWC Clubhouse and dinner for the riders and guests.
March 28 – Registration of participants/media/VIP guests; Assembly of riders and the formal Opening Ceremony of the Philippine Cable Wakeboard Nationals at the CWC Dock Area; Competition Proper (Elimination Round) for the Groms, Girls, Junior Men’s, Junior Women’s Divisions; after a quick lunch break, the eliminations for the Open Women’s, Masters Men’s, Men’s, Veterans, Pro Wakeskate Divisions; Tabulation of Scores; quick dinner for participants and guests; and a Flip Flop Hip Hop Beach Party at the CWC Stage.
