31st National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Month Launching in Naga City in July

The 31st National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation ( NDPR) Month will be launched in Naga City on July 1, 2009. This is a momentous event because it will be the first time that the NDPR opening activities will be held outside the National Capital Region. In this regard, may we invite you to participate by joining in the following activities that are geared towards increasing awareness on disability empowerment, inclusion and services.

Disability Walk…. towards Independence Plaza Quezon 7:30 AM 200 persons with disabilities from the 14 municipalities of MetroNaga will be “ walking hand in hand “ with their able-bodied fellow Bicolanos as a manifestation of unity and support towards activities, programs and issues towards upliftment, independence and empowerment of the disabled
Talents…. Enabled! “ SM City Naga 10:00 – 11:00 am The amputees will dance with their artificial limbs…the hearing-impaired will sing on key….the visually-impaired will read the right notes….the wheelchair borne will gracefully sashay in tempo…physically disabled but talent enabled !
Medical and Rehabilitation Services SM City Naga 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Free medical services will be provided to the disabled while lay fora pertaining to wellness and disability prevention will be conducted to their caregivers and health providers
