Education in the Grassroots Level
Attaining proper education in remote part of far away places is such a no ending sacrifice on the part of the parents as well as the children. Grateful enough to have a one room multiple grade school, the children mostly belonging to a very low profile formally, crave everyday for school almost (sad to say) a mile away from home. Parents send their children so that at least their kids would learn to scribble their names correctly and learn to count numbers for at least one to a hundred, preparing their children not for attaining a degree but for at least a know how for bartering or selling their root crops or any farm commodities down the market. Because of hard life, parents usually stop dreaming or planning to give their children proper and better higher education. For them, sending their kids only to grade school is already a great endeavor and a big deal having no other choice.
Going to school everyday, you could tell the excitement and happiness on the faces of the children, ignoring the muddy path or even the sudden down pour of heavy rain, carrying ones a plastic bag with a few pieces of paper and a pencil inside. Nobody can ever tell what they think about, whether the dream of pursuing through college or whether they are just excited having or making new friends.
We could not blame anybody over our own short comings, instead we should work it out our selves, and proper planning of the family is a must, so we could at least give our children a chance to have good life and even family in the future.
