Fittingly dubbed as “Magbinaydan 2011”, the big preparation is now under way as the organizers of the 2nd International Grand Alumni Homecoming get ready for the big event which will gather all alumni of the University of Northeastern Philippines (UNEP) this February 2011.
UNEP College of Nursing Dean Eleanor R. Alfelor who is on top of the preparation is intently scrutinizing every single detail to ensure yet another successful holding of the occasion which is expected to draw together hundreds of former graduates of UNEP from all over the world.
“We are already anticipating the coming of our beloved UNEP alumni here in Iriga City from different parts of the globe, just like what happened when we had our first international reunion in Sheraton Gateway Suites in Chicago, Illinois last year.”
Alfelor added that they also received information that some have already purchased their plane tickets and some have already arranged booking schedules as early as December 2010.
“This is a good sign that everyone is excited and is anticipating this upcoming gathering, and we are equally keyed up to receive all of them right here in our beloved alma matter.”
“Magbinaydan 2011” , which literally means, ‘to see each other will mark the second year of the UNEPians gathering where they will meet and greet to reminisce and share their experiences after stepping out of the university’s portals.
UNEP Executive Vice President and concurrently the university’s VP for Finance said that they are now structuring committees which will serve as the homecoming’s arm in disseminating the information among batch mates who are now scattered in every nook and corner of the world.
In line with the celebration, the organizing committee has also prepared various activities to significantly celebrate their get-together. Culminating activities will include a Medical Mission, distribution of goods, bags, slippers and other give aways, reforestation activity and other similar endeavors.
The occasion will also grace the holding of cultural night and fellowship, gala night and a breakfast summit.
One of the highlights of the program is a tribute to be given to outstanding Mabinians and Unepians who have brought honor to the university by exemplifying a life well-lived and who have pursued a successful career path after living the portals of the university.
Atty. Remelisa Alfelor-Moraleda, UNEP President looks at the reunion with positive anticipation.
