MY PREVIOUS COLUMNS dealt with facts and tips in maintaining good oral hygiene in relation to fighting periodontal diseases (gingivitis and periodontitis). In the past, oral health has been associated only with the mouth. However, new research has found that the advanced stage of gum disease which is Periodontitis is linked with heart problems, such as heart diasease and stroke.

Looking for a choir to sing at Mass on June 23, 2007 for the occasion of the 71st Annual Convention of the Camarines Sur Medical Society is a “ tough “ one. It isn’t a Mass only for the convention but more importantly, it is an anticipated Sunday Mass for the community of the faithful. The recent oil spill from an abaca fiber processing plant in Sto. Domingo, Albay is a disturbing example of negligence: by both the management of the said processing plant, and by DENR. Based on the statement released through its administrative officer, the Pacific Cordage Corporation was amiss in its safety measures when one of its operators neglected to attend to a mixing tank that eventually overflowed and spilled around 2100 liters of oil to nearby farmlands.

There’s no other and better way to aptly put a title to this feature article than what the acronym in the name of the establishment stands for and the character that it, too, wants to project.  Yes, AMF Gallery Café is a haven for Arts, Music and Food lovers, and at the same time, is a bed-and -breakfast hostel for tourists and travelers in Bikol.
