Naga City (March 15, 2011) – High electricity bills are inevitable and forthcoming and Jane Barrameda, OIC Manager of the Camarines Sur II Electric Cooperative (CASURECO II), urges member-consumers to implement their own energy-saving  measures to render the power hike tolerable.

Barrameda says the the higher cost of power that the cooperative has started buying from its fallback source, the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM), shall now be passed on to the consumers and will start showing in June electric bills.

Naga City (May 13, 2011)  - The Therma Luzon Incorporated, an affiliate of the Aboitiz Group of Companies and the main power supplier of Camarines Sur II Electric Cooperative (CASURECO II), has suspended the contract to sell electricity to the cooperative because of the latter’s failure to pay its debts amounting to 67 million pesos. This was revealed by Jane Barrameda, OIC General Manager of CASURECO II.

The March 4-7 survey of the Social Weather Station, which it made exclusively for Business World, showed that 20.5 percent of respondents or an estimated 4.2 million families experienced hunger at least once in the past three months.

The March 4-7 survey of the Social Weather Station, which it made exclusively for Business World, showed that 20.5 percent of respondents or an estimated 4.2 million families experienced hunger at least once in the past three months. This represents an increase from the 18.5 percent or an estimated 3.4 million families going hungry in November 2010. According to Business World, the recent result is seven points above the 12-year average of 13.8 percent.
