Army Recognizes Heroes during Bonifacio Day

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City (Dec 1, 2011) – As the whole Filipino nation celebrates the 148th birth anniversary of Gat Andres Bonifacio on November 30, the Philippine Army also recognizes the heroism of each soldier, both in war fighting and in winning the peace.

The act of courage and bravery displayed by Filipino soldiers in combat, and their selfless service to the citizens through the conduct humanitarian missions and rescue operations during disasters, are manifestations that the flame of heroism is burning and alive.

Court orders transfer of GMA to Veterans Hospital

MANILA, Philippines (Dec 1, 2011) – Immediately after hearing the testimony of the main attending physician of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the court ordered the transfer the arrested ex-president from her $1000 a day hospital suite to a government hospital.

Pasay City court Judge Jesus Mupas today ordered the transfer of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from the St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC) in Taguig City to a government hospital.

Masbate Rebels Suffer Double Whammy in Sorsogon Encounter

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City (Nov. 30, 2011) – Rebels who fled the relentless pursuit operations of the Army in the province of Masbate suffered another humiliating defeat in the hands of government forces in Sorsogon, a military official said.

Lt. Col Teody Toribio, Commanding Officer of the 31st IB stationed in Juban town in Sorsogon said that his unit dealt a decisive blow against the Masbate-based rebels during an encounter at about 2:00pm yesterday, Nov 29, which yielded 8 high-powered rifles.

Jail looms for GMA

MANILA, Philippines (Nov. 26, 2011) – The prospect of GMA’s house arrest dimmed yesterday after one her doctors said in court that the former president is recuperating, may be treated as outpatient and is on the way to recovery in weeks.

Given this, a government prosecutor moved yesterday for the immediate transfer of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) to a local jail...

Gloria Arroyo finally mugged, fingerprinted

MANILA, Philippines (Nov 19, 2011) - At past 3 PM this afternoon, police took mugshots and fingerprints of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo while sitting on her bed at the St. Luke's Medical Center.

The police deferred the booking of the former president in consideration of her medical condition when she was put under hostpital arrest yesterday.

Police photographers took the mug shots in spite of the request of the Arroyo camp that they just take the photos and turn them over to the the police...

MANILA, Philippines - A young Filipino mathematician emerged as one of the individual champions in a tough World Mathematics Team Championship held at the Jiuhua Resort and Convention Center held in Beijing, China, from Nov. 2 to 6.

Eleven-year-old Farrel Eldrian Wu, a Grade 6 student of MGC New Life Christian Academy in Taguig City, won a gold medal and ranked first in the primary division individual contests...

2 Revilla siblings charged for killing of brother

 

MANILA, Philippines (Nov 2, 2011) – Sibling rivalry over money is thought to have resulted in the killing of 23-year-old actor-politician Ram Revilla (Ramgen Jose Bautista in real life) and 2 of his younger siblings have been nabbed and charged for conspiring to kill him last Oct 28.

Ma. Ramona Belen Bautista, 20; and Ramon Joseph Bautista, 18, were charged with murder together with five others accused of helping them execute the killing in the Bautista residence in BF Homes, Parañaque.

“The motive is personal,” city police chief Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran said without elaborating.
