In a statement issued by Paje to the DENR regional office here, he said that President Aquino has ordered to cleanse the mining industry of all non-compliant projects.

This lizard variety commands very attractive prices in the illegal market and and created a frenzy of hunting in rural area and excitement among wild life traders and sales agents of all kind.

Minalabac Camarines Sur (June 20 2011) - A large tropical green turtle (Chelonian mydas) was released back to sea after it was trapped in a fish net in Ragay Gulf off Bagulatao, a coastal village here.

Town Mayor Gil Basmayor Jr., said Philip Oco, a fisherman who caught the turtle, turned over the sea animal to authorities upon learning that it is already included in the list of endangered species.

LEGAZPI CITY – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) announced recently the new assignments of key officials in Bikol, as part of the DENR’s continuing organizational development in its bid to ensure  efficient enforcement of the agency’s mandates.

CALABANGA, Camarines Sur, Nov. 24  – It may be an uphill battle but local leaders opposed to the proposed offshore magnetite exploration at the marine life-rich San Miguel Bay are standing their ground.

CALABANGA, Camarines Sur, Nov. 24  – It may be an uphill battle but local leaders opposed to the proposed offshore magnetite exploration at the marine life-rich San Miguel Bay are standing their ground.

They fear massive environmental degradation and economic dislocation of thousands of fisher folk around the bay should the mining operations push through.

The mining would be initiated by Bogo Resources and Mining Corporation (BRMC), a Filipino-Korean firm.
