Motorcycle cops to hunt “riding-in-tandem” criminals in Naga

NAGA CITY (Dec 13,2011) – In response to the resurgence of motorcycle-borne “riding in tandem” robbers, thirty policemen have volunteered to use their personally-owned motorcycles to patrol the 27 Barangays of this city and augment the city police’s  integrated anti-crime system.

The police chief is appreciative of the scheme where “riding in tandem” cops shall be fitted against “riding in tandem” criminals.

Governor's security aide shot, killed one suspect

DAET, Camarines Norte (Nov. 6, 2011) – A security aide of Camarines Norte Governor Edgardo “Egay” Tallado was wounded in an ambush carried out by motorcycle-riding suspects but managed to fire back at the suspects killing one of them. Camarines Norte Police director, Sr. Supt. Roberto Bigay Fajardo identified the security aide as retired policeman SPO4 Roni Bardon who sustained non-fatal wounds in the head and shoulder.

Daet needs to reclaim part of Bicol National Park in its bid for cityhood

 

DAET, Camarines Norte (Nov. 1, 2011) – The local government of this Capital town is reclaiming part of  the 11, 000-hectare area of the Bicol National Park (BNP) within the Camarines Norte side of the national park that is currently in the territorial jurisdiction of neighboring town of Basud.

Daet  Mayor Tito Sarion said that this is in connectionwith the town’s bid to become the first city in this province. Daet has all that it takes to become the next city in the Bicol region but its present total land area falls short of the 10, 000 hectares required to qualify for cityhood, said the mayor...

DAET, Camarines Norte (Oct 29, 2011) – Recent incidents of armed robberies targeting the business community threaten the economic lifeblood of this capital town and the business sector is pleading for help.

The most recent armed robbery was carried out in broad daylight in the morning of Oct 24 by 5 motorcycle-riding suspects with Visayan accent and resulted in the death of Allied Bank security guard, Rodan Bacuno Lonto, who was shot before one of the suspects grabbed from a bank employee a money bag containing cash and checks from KLT Trading.
