Since last week, AKO-Bicol Party-list representatives Rodel Batocabe, Chrisptoher Co and Alfredo Garbin Jr. have distributed relief goods to evacuees in the still flooded areas in the provinces of Albay and Camarines Sur.

PILI, Camarines Sur (Aug 7, 2007) – Two weeks into the aftermath of Typhoon Juaning, hundreds of evacuees have no choice but to sleep in classrooms that students use in day time. This cumbersome arrangement ensued after classes were ordered resumed even in the still flooded areas in the 2nd and 5th districts of Camarines Sur.

Department of Education (DepEd) Camarines Sur Schools Division Superintendent Emma I. Cornejo said that regular classes have resumed even in flooded areas of the province since August 3.

On Friday (July 29) Bato Mayor Jeanette OR. Bernaldez urgently appealed for help for the 44,000 residents mostly dependent on planting root-crops, palay, and tilapia raising at Lake Bato. The town sustained the most damage among the 7 Rinconada towns in the worst flooding in the past 10-years, Bernaldez said.

LEGAZPI City (July 1, 2011) – Rescue teams of the Philippine Navy, using 2 sea vessels and an aircraft, have ended the search for 10 missing fishermen from Ligao City and the towns of Virac and Bato in Catanduanes province.

An official report on Thursday, (June 30) from the Office of the Civil Defence (OCD) Bicol office and the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC) bared that the 10 fishermen lost at sea and will not be searched anymore were identified as:

Rosa Ordan, 54, barangay Basag, of Ligao City;
