BACACAY, Albay, Nov. 10, 2009- At least 400 priests from the Archdiocese of Caceres and the Dioceses Legazpi, Sorsogon, Daet, Masbate, Libmanan and Virac have gathered at the Bethlehem Retreat Center, this town for their regional clergy retreat which began yesterday and will end on Friday.

NAGA CITY, Nov. 3, 2009─ The priests of the Bicol region is set to celebrate the Year for priests with a regional clergy retreat that will focus on the life of St. John Mary Vianney on November 9-13 at Bethlehem in Bacacay town, Albay.

Naga City (29 October) - Annoyed by rumors that some priests in his jurisdiction are being enjoined to run for public office, Caceres Archbishop Leonardo Legaspi declared in a homily that priests in the Archdiocese of Caceres are forbidden from seeking public posts this coming May 2010 Elections.

The Archdiocese of Caceres will have another parish on October 18, 2009 with the canonical erection of St. Peregrine of Laziosi with its seat at Sto. Domingo, Calabanga Camarines Sur. This will be the 79th parish of the archdiocese. The parish will be composed of barangays Sto Domingo, San Bernardino, Pagao, Dominorog, Balatasan, Punta Tarawal, Balongay, Carigsa and San Lucas, all within the municipalities of Calabanga, Bombon and Magarao CS.

MANILA, October 1, 2009-The Vatican announced at 6:00 PM Thursday (Manila Time) the appointment of Masbate Bishop Joel Baylon as new bishop of the Diocese of Legazpi in Albay province.
