Naga Boy Bags International Math Tilt Slot
John Reinier B. Bulaong, a sophomore of the Ateneo de Naga University High School Department grabbed one of the slots for the International Mathematics contest of the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.
Besting 70,000 students from all over the country in a series of contests, Bulaong is slated to represent the country later this year along with the top 25 percent of the contestants according to the Mathematics Trainers Guild (MTG) which administered the contest here. Certificates of Distinction were also awarded to the qualifiers.
As of press time no definite date and contest venue were known. Previous international contests were held in the United States, China, Singapore and Thailand.
The announcement was posted by MTG-Philippines in the Philippine Daily Inquirer website.
John Reinier B. Bulaong is the son of Mr. Joseph Rommel O. Bulaong and Mrs. Melissa Sieglinde Borromeo-Bulaong.
