  • Daet, Camarines Norte (27 August) -- The Provincial Sagip Batang Mangagawa-Quick Action Team (SBM-QAT) has been recently reactivated and will intensify its anti-child labor program, said a provincial official.

    In a meeting held here Tuesday (August 21), Camarines Norte Provincial Field Officer Ruben Romanillos of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that they will reactivate the SBM-QAT to fully support the programs and projects of the Provincial Council for the Welfare of Children (PCWC).

  • Daet, Camarines Norte (13 May) -- Governor Edgardo A. Tallado was proclaimed anew winner this morning (Wednesday, May 12) as Governor of this province winning only by 158 votes against incumbent Labo Mayor Winniefredo Oco.

    It can be recalled that Tallado has just assumed governor last May 25 after the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) en banc proclaimed him as the winning governor in 2007 elections.

  • Daet, Camarines Norte (12 February) -- The province of Camarines Norte notched the overall championships in the Palarong Bikol 2010 held here last week.

    After the 7-days sports and literary competitions, Camarines Norte has obtained 519 points, followed by Camarines Sur with 510.5 points claiming first runner-up, second runner-up Naga City, 244; third runner-up Legazpi City, 236.66; fourth runner-up Albay, 236; fifth runner-up Masbate, 207; and sixth runner-up Catanduanes gaining 192 points.

  • Daet, Camarines Norte (16 June) -- The Police Provincial Office (PPO) of Camarines Norte launched Monday (June 8) the "Kalaswaan, Dapat I-ban" or campaign against pornography in front of the PPO headquarters here.

    PSSupt. Emmanuel M. Talento, police provincial director here, said that the campaign against pornography will be done continuously to put a stop on the proliferation of pornographic materials, especially pirated VCDs and DVDs, in the entire province.

  • Daet, Camarines Norte (7 April) -- The province of Camarines Norte is chosen as one of the three shortlisted areas with good practices from among the ten entries submitted nationwide to the Philippines Against Child Trafficking (PACT).
