  • NAGA CITY, Aug. 26 --- At least 1,500 families from the city's five barangays have met the standard set by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to qualify in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

    The program is a developmental approach designed to promote investment in human capital among poor families with 0 to 14 years old children.

  • NAGA CITY, Aug. 27 -- In furtherance of its socialized housing program, the city government laid down once again the cornerstone for the development of a new resettlement site in Sitio Salunguigui, Barangay Cararayan, this city.

    The one-hectare resettlement area is seen to accommodate 116 family beneficiaries whose home lots will have an average of 60 square meter area each.

  • NAGA CITY --- Did you know that the number of Filipinos infected with human immuno-deficiency virus (HIV) rose dramatically in the past 10 months?

    Doctors at the Philippine General Hospital Infectious Diseases Treatment Complex said the number of HIV cases in the hospital rose to 100 in the past 10 months. Records from the Department of Health (DOH) showed that the number of HIV cases rose to 709 last year, compared to 528 in 2008.

  • NAGA CITY, June 30 --- The Philippine National Railways (PNR) Tagkawayan-Naga stretch will soon be operational in time for the forthcoming Peñafrancia fiesta here.

    The assurance came from Naga City-based PNR consultant Nicolas Beda Priela who told media practitioners that the rehabilitation works in the area are being rushed for the celebration of the regional fiesta in September this year.

  • NAGA CITY, April 20 (PNA) --- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo today promised to undertake more approaches to lessen the impact of the global economic crisis on the country.

    The President spoke to a jam-packed crowd attending the grand opening ceremonies of the National Private Schools Athletics Association (PRISAA) Games at the University of Nueva Caceres Sports Palace.
