Naga City (July 18, 2011 4:25 P.M.) - Egay, now classified as a Tropical Storm with center wind velocity of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness up to 85 kilometers per hour, has started moving away from Catanduanes island.

It now moves Northwesterly towards Cagayan and Batanes at 19 kilometers per hour and is located 140 km East Northeast of Pandan, Catanduanes at coordinates 14.6º North Latitude 125.4º East Longitude as of 3:00 P.M. today.

Egay was closest to the Bicol Region at 9:00 A.M. today as it passed 205 kilometers East of Virac, Catanduanes before momentarily drifting directly Northward for about 3 hours.

Between 5:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M. tomorrow, the tropical storm packing a center wing of 95 kilometer per hour shall skirt the northern coast of Cagayan, passing about 15 kilometers North of Escaparda Point.

Storm Signal No. 1 (40-50 kph wind) remains hoisted over Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Polillo Island, Aurora, Cagayan and Isabela. (voxbikol)
