

3 Day Enhancement Seminar-Workshop For Baao District Teachers

Education has been one of the major enterprise of a democratic society, and preparing competent teachers in whose hands the education of the young children is entrusted cannot be overemphasized.
The seminar workshop was intended primarily for Baao District teachers and school heads to improve their competency and to update themselves on the current trends, new techniques and strategies in the teaching-learning process, and to maintain a high standard of personal and professional conduct.
And, to prepare teachers and school heads for the school year 2010-2011 and in consonance with the DepEd Programs and Projects to improve school performance, an intervention was planned out, thus a 3 Day Enhancement Seminar-Workshop for Baao District Teachers was conducted last June 2-4, 2010 at Baao District Pavilion.
The 3 Day Seminar-Workshop had the following objectives:
a. Enhance teacher's academic preparedness for the coming school year 2010-2011;
b. Deepen their understanding on the application of the different skilsl and competencies;
c. Enrich their value of commitment and dedication.
One of the highlights of the closing program was the awarding of tokens to forty (40) Outstanding Project WATCH Implementor of the 3 Day Enhancement Seminar-Workshop of Baao District Teachers based on the criteria of first to register and first to arrive by school. The awarding was done by Dr. Jina-Luz Z. Alfelor and Mr. Lowel I. Bisenio, the ESP-II and OIC of the District. The forty (40) winners received simple tokens of recognition by practicing punctuality and honesty during the whole duration of the seminar-workshop.
The presence of Rev. Fr. Anthony B. Imperial, Parish Priest of Sto. Domingo Parish Church of Iriga City who dealt on Values Enrichment of teachers and school heads made a remarkable impact on personal and professional development of teachers.
The Working Committee were also given Certificate of Merits for their selfless effort in performing their task accordingly.
The resource speakers received a Certificate of Commendation and a token from newly re-elected Board Member of the 5th District of Camarines Sur Hon. Ruperto R. Alfelor, M.D. for their magnanimous effort in sharing their knowledge and expertise on their respective topics.
The cash on hand of four thousand eight hundred eight pesos and thirty five centavos (P4,808.35) as savings for the staff development of Baao District implies that there was proper handling of district fund and transparency was evidently practiced.
