UNEP Extends Praises to W.A.T.C.H. Outstanding Implementer
Capping this year's title as 2010 National Project W.A.T.C.H Implementer, the whole Baao West Central School has all the reasons to celebrate for being the only school in Luzon to win the prestigious award.
This after the JCI Senate Philippines and the Department of Education with the support of its Institutional partners adjudged Baao West Central School as 5th place winner in the National Search for Outstanding School Implementer of Project WATCH for 2010. This is also in line with the celebration of the project's Anniversary Month in pursuance to Proclamation Number 1782.
The awarding ceremony was held last June 30 at the Ballroom Hall, Bayview Park Hotel in Metro Manila.
Project WATCH which means "We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty," was launched at Ramon Magsaysay High School in Cubao, last January 11, 2008. It is a crusade to restore and strengthen the value of punctuality and honesty, specifically starting it off with the students.
Baao West Central School's Principal II, Dr. Jina-Luz Zamudio Alfelor, together with the school's Project WATCH teacher-adviser, Mrs. Joy Besenio, received the award of recognition / certificate of excellence. The awarding ceremony was graced by no less than JCI's Senate Philippines President, JCI Sen. Bernard Ong and DepEd Central Special Events Head Unit, Ms. Luzviminda F. Dela Rosa.
Upon hearing the good news, Atty. Remelisa Alfelor-Moraleda, President of the University of Northeastern Philiipines (UNEP) immediately extended its congratulations to the school and to Dr. Alfelor for having been granted with the said honor.
UNEP President Atty. Remelisa Alfelor-Moraleda said that Dr. Alfelor's achievement is also the achievement of the UNEP community, her being a part time instructor and once an Officer-in-Charge of UNEP's Graduate School in 2005.
"On a personal note, the family would also like to extend our congratulations to her and to those who contributed in [sic] the success of this project. These virtues are really worth emulating."
Dr. Alfelor was so elated with the award and vowed to continue implementing the virtues embodied in the project. "The mission of Project WATCH is to share our talents and time in order to strengthen the values of punctuality and honesty and make it as a living legacy."
Dr. Alfelor is currently a school registrar at Buhi Lyceum at Buhi, Camarines Sur but working as part time College/ Instructor at UNEP's College of Education and a part-time Professor and Defense Panel Member at the university's Graduate School Department. She is married to Camarines Sur Provincial Board Member Ruperto Rigoroso-Alfelor, M.D. (Lizel S. Macatangay)
