Policeman dies in vehicular accident
RAGAY, Camarines Sur – A policeman died on the spot when his motorcycle collided with a bus owned by Arandia Bus Lines.
The bus driver, Ernan Ocharan Cardel, 39, who was deemed at fault was charged with with “Reckless Imprudence Resulting to Homicide and Damage to Property” before the Provincial Prosecution Office in Naga City on Monday (Jan.6).
Earlier, Cardel had been charged with the same offense at the First Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Ragay town.
The policeman, SPO1 Eduardo Partible Alacar, was traveling North bound for Manila along the Andaya Highway in barangay Agrupacion in this town last (Jan.5) when the collision occurred.
SPO1 Alacar was reportedly assigned with the PNP-PSPG National Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City and was a VIP security escort to Hon. Eleanor B. Begtang, Congresswoman of Apayao Province, as shown in the his House of Representatives Access Pass Card.
The death of SPO1 Alacar was reported by his wife, Corazon Alacar, at the Ragay Municipal Police station at about 8:30 A.M. on Jan. 5. (SONNY SALES)
