An Early Summer Treat For Kapuso Fans Across The Country

For the people of Bukidnon and Davao , the month of March marks not only the beginning of summer season but also the celebration of their respective festivals -- the Kaamulan and Araw ng Dabaw -- that annually sees the participation of various celebrities from leading broadcast station GMA Network.

It started on March 2 when the Kapuso Network sent on-screen love team Mikael Daez and Andrea Torres to Bukidnon for the Kaamulan Parade followed by versatile actress Chynna Ortaleza gracing a Kapuso Barangayan the next day.

On March 4, serving as the festival's highlight was the Kapuso Night in Capitol Grounds, Capitol Compound made remarkably special by the presence of Indio 's Aljur Abrenica together with Katrina Halili, Ryza Cenon, and Rochelle Pangilinan.

"Napakasaya ng naging experience namin sa Kaamulan Festival. Napakainit nang naging pagtanggap sa amin ng mga tao. Salamat po sa lahat ng nakisaya sa amin," shares Aljur who was deeply overwhelmed by the warm welcome extended to them by their fans in Bukidnon.

In Davao , Kapusong Davaoeños were served three times the fun and excitement with the cast of Kakambal ni Eliana, Indio , and Temptation of Wife bannering the Kapuso events from March 15 to 17.

Kakambal ni Eliana lead star Kim Rodriguez, together with Kristoffer Martin, Enzo Pineda, and Chynna started their festival participation with a Kapuso Barangayan and a Kapuso Mall Show, which was later on joined by Party Pilipinas regulars Jay-R, Rochelle Pangilinan, and Kris Lawrence.

The cast of Indio led by Senator Bong Revilla Jr. along with Jennylyn Mercado, Rhian Ramos, Ehra Madrigal, and Sam Pinto, meanwhile, joined the colorful parade that cruised along the major streets of Davao , starting from Marco Polo- Roxas Avenue to San Pedro Street . Afterwhich they staged a fun mall show at the Gaisano Mall of Davao.

Merriment continued the next day as Kapuso hunks Dennis Trillo and Rafael Rosell hit SM City Davao for another Kapuso Mall Show. Joining them was actress and host Maxene Magalona.

In an interview, Senator Bong said he accepted the role of Indio as his way of giving thanks to his fans. "I can't just imagine… ‘Yung mga fans ko, all throughout nandiyan sila hindi nila ako pinabayaan, so ano ba naman yung mapanood nila ako sa TV nang libre. Pasasalamat ko na rin sa kanila sa walang sawang pagsuporta nila sa akin," shares Senator Bong.

Meanwhile, apart from Bukidnon and Davao , various Kapuso stars also visited other areas throughout the country.

On March 2, Iloilo had Louise delos Reyes and Kris Lawrence for its Thomas Confessor Day while Pampanga had Temptation of Wife's Glaiza de Castro and Rafael Rosell to lead the Kapuso Mall Show. Julie Ann San Jose and Katrina Halili, meanwhile, were in Bacolod for another exciting mall show.

Also for a Kapuso Mall Show, Bianca King and Geoff Eigenmann visited Pulilan on March 10 while Julie Ann and Steven Silva hit Iloilo on March 15. The next day, March 16, it was Dingdong Dantes with Rochelle Pangilinan, and Moymoy Palaboy (James and Rodfil) who made waves at Nepo Mall in Angeles, Pampanga while Jake Vargas and Louise took Robinson’s Cabanatuan .

Back-to-back and simultaneous events also took place on March 16 in the Queen City of the South as GMA News TV's Bayan Ko lead star Rocco Nacino and Tween star Barbie Forteza invade SM City Cebu, while Kapuso stars Carla Abellana, Mike Tan, and Kris Lawrence conquered Gaisano Grand Mall in Mactan. On the same day, Mangatarem had Aljur and Frencheska Farr for a mall show while Robinson's Fuente in Cebu had Max Collins and Luis Alandy to perform before the crowd the following day.

"Pangalawang balik ko na sa Cebu ngayong taon and I must say the reception of the people has stayed the same," says Rocco who admitted that his role in Bayan Ko as Mayor Joseph Santiago of the town of Lagros is out of his comfort zone. "I'm playing the role of a mayor na nasa 35 to 40's, and I'm only 25. So napaka-challenging ng role talaga and I'm thankful sa akin ito ipinagkatiwala."

CDeO’s Araw ng Pagadian turned out to be one big fete as Beauty Queen Chloe McCully graced the Miss Pagadian 2013 Coronation Night with actor Dion Ignacio serenading the beautiful candidates on March 25 at the Pagadian City Gymnasium. The next day, March 26, Mikael and Andrea joined in on the festivities.

On March 20, Aljur traveled again, this time up north with RnB Prince Jay-R for the Tobacco Festival of Candon City in Ilocos Sur. He also graced Negros Occidental's Sipalay City 12th Charter Day alongside Kylie Padilla and Mike Tan on March 31 at the Sipalay City Gymnasium. Meanwhile, Kapuso stars Max Collins, Rochelle Pangilinan, Carl Guevarra, and Steven Silva celebrated the Araw ng Panabo at the Panabo Gym, Davao del Norte.
