Ahead of 9-hole golf course, Haciendas de Naga launches driving range

Ahead of the opening of its 9-hole tropical golf course, Haciendas de Naga launched Saturday (May 26) its Driving Range where golf enthusiasts can now practice their swings and strokes.

Naga City Mayor Hon. John Bongat graced the said event. The mayor himself tried golfing together with Enjoy Realty President Engr. Emeterio “Boy” Aman and other golf enthusiasts. Engr. Fernando Villamil, Golf Superintendent of Haciendas de Naga Sports Club, Inc., gave a basic training on playing golf to the guests.

Meantime the construction of the full 9-hole course is in full swing.

When completed the golf course shall be another sports tourism destination in Naga City.

The driving range shall remain a feature of the 9-hole tropical golf course when completed.

The Sports Itself

It was the British who introduced golf to the Filipinos. This might be one of the reasons why there is a notion that golf is for rich people.

But golf is not only for the rich, claims the managers of Haciendas de Naga.

“It is not expensive to play golf. Our rates in Haciendas de Naga are lower. For only 50 pesos,you can already have 40 golf balls for your driving range session and you can play anytime.” says Mrs. Imelda Botor, Adiministrator of Haciendas de Naga.

Golf Academy

Haciendas de Naga is offering packages of 2-hour golf clinics for those who want to learn how to play golf. The training includes the 7 essential aspects in golf: lower body section, mid body section, upper body section, gripping the golf club, swinging, principles of hitting the golf ball and rules of golf. The said cliniquing is conducted by Engr. Feramil during weekends.

At the moment, 4 holes are already completed and the entire 9-hole golf course is set for completion before the year ends.
