Alcala urged 450 local executives, provincial government representatives, members of people’s organizations and other government employees, ” to go organic" in agriculture during the Luzon-wide Awareness Seminar for Local Executives on the implementation of Republic Act (RA) 10068 or the “Organic Act of 2010” held at the Avenue Plaza Hotel in this city on Friday (May 4).

And it has been timed with the ADB 2012 conference on May 2-5, in Manila for first-hand reach through the foreign delegates and participants numbering over 4,000, which include ministers of finance and development, central bankers, private sector representatives, civil society and media.

DAET, CAMARINES NORTE (May 3, 2012) - Concerned sectors and the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) in this province have strongly condemned the rebel attack on soldiers and civilians during a Peace and Development dialogue with villagers at a barangay hall in Maot, Labo,Camarines Norte last Sunday (April 29).

CHR head for Camarines Norte, Lawyer Arlyn Ailanco, and local religious leaders condemned the indiscriminate firing by the rebels during an attack in the locality, resulting in the deaths of soldiers and a civilian and the wounding of several others.

Bicol army official sacked over soldiers' death in rebels attack

MANILA, Philippines (May 1, 2012) - The commander of the 9th Infantry Division relieves an Army battalion commander from his post following a recent attack by communist rebels in Camarines Norte that left four soldiers and a civilian dead.

Maj. Gen. Josue Gaverza, commander of the Army’s 9th division, said Lt. Col. Epimaco Macalisang has been relieved as chief of the 34th Infantry Battalion on the basis of command responsibility.
