Lt. Col. Pedro Sumayo, former commander of the controversial Military Intelligence Group-21 (MIG-21), said that he was able to listen to the raw copy of the wiretapped recordings of Garcillano's conversation with then President Arroyo after the 2004 presidential elections.

MANILA, Philippines (Nov 22, 2011) – The arrest of former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo remains valid as former first gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo failed to secure a temporary restraining order (TRO) at the Supreme Court today on the prosecution of his wife, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, on poll sabotage charges.

Instead, the Higher Court gave the former chief executive and other respondents, including former poll chair Benjamin Abalos, 10 days to comment on the findings of the Commission and Election (Comelec) – Department of Justice (DOJ) joint panel...

He is willing to help the Aquino administration in crafting electoral reforms and he even called for an education campaign on the electoral process.

“I can contribute... We are talking about elections, which I am known for. I already said we should start by educating our people," he said.

MANILA, July 18, 2011— The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) supports moves to solve past cases of electoral fraud especially the Hello Garci scandal.

Henrietta de Villa, PPCRV chairperson, said that until those accountable for a crime have been revealed and justice has been served, the case cannot be put to rest.

“They should run after all those who had a hand in the mega cheating in the 2004 and 2007 elections,” said de Villa.

The Truth Commission should consider the report by Human Rights Watch on the Maguindanao Massacre and the Ampatuans and other warlords, which was released a few days ago. Entitled, “‘They Own the People’: The Ampatuans, State-Backed Militias, and Killings in the Southern Philippines,” the report also implicates former Pres. Macapagal-Arroyo...

“Have you found the truth?” I joked Atty. Cho-Choy Medina, a member of the Truth Commission, when I met him on Nov. 9, during our meeting of the Philippine Working Group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism.“Not yet,” he replied.
